Many of us were in Allentown, PA for this year’s annual conference, which was graciously hosted by Rev. Dr. Christine Nelson and the staff of the Lehigh County Conference of Churches. An impressive group of scholars gave papers which stimulated our conversation on the theme “We Belong to One Another”, as we drew on the Porto Alegre 2006 statement, Called to be the One Church, which calls Christians and their churches to acknowledge their mutual responsibility to one another.
