Prairie Centre for Ecumenism

"At the Prairie Centre for Ecumenism, we seek to call all Christian churches, regardless of denomination, to the goal of visible reconciliation and unity for the world's sake, expressed in one faith and one eucharistic fellowship in Christ." (cf. Eph. 4)

The Prairie Centre for Ecumenism has been in operation since 1984. Our ministry involves the promotion of inter-church dialogue, understanding and co-operation. In addition, the Centre also promotes inter-religious encounters in our communities. For further information about the Centre, see the history page.

The Prairie Centre for Ecumenism is sponsored by six denominations. We work in close partnership with the Canadian Council of Churches, the Canadian Centre for Ecumenism, the Association of Interchurch Families, and other ecumenical ministries.

Sunday preaching

Our director, Rev. Dr. Jan Bigland-Pritchard, is available about once a month to preach in various churches. She will bring a message on Christian unity and reconciliation that will be of great benefit to all. If you wish to have her speak in your church, give us a call to arrange a date.

Our library

There are about 2,000 books, most of which are available for borrowing for one month, on a number of ecumenical and interfaith topics. The complete book collection is accessible through our public access catalogue. Besides some videos, we also have a vertical file on many topics, with documents, news articles, and general information. Come and see what we have -- students, clergy, and laypersons -- we will be able to help you!
